Congratulations to Bita, MiSST's Young Musician of the Year
BackThis term Whitefield students head over to Camden Town for the MiSST Gala concert celebrating their 11th anniversary. This years Gala was hosted at the Roundhouse, one of the historic venues in North London.
This years MiSST Gala was more special than others, as our very own Bita in Year 13 was awarded the title of MiSST’s Young Musician of the Year. Her composition also won the composition competition, judged by Andrew Lloyd Webber, so was selected to be performed with a full orchestra at the Gala. We wish Bita a huge congratulations on her achievement.
Bita shared with us a little insight into her experience with MiSST and it's orchestra.
- When did you start music?
I started music at three years old, I started with singing, then moved to taking violin more seriously after. At Whitefield I got involved with MiSST and have been in the MiSST Symphony Orchestra for two years now, where I’m now a group leader.
- What do you like about MiSST
It has helped me improve as a musician and grow in confidence as a musician. MiSST also gave a reference which helped me join the LSSO (London Symphony Student Orchestra). The atmosphere in MiSST is really good and I made some really good friends through the programme. The lead conductor has also been very supportive.
